Choral Gems
Lyrica’s 2007-2008 concert program will feature choral gems celebrating the exquisite richness and sparkle of various diverse eras. In December, Lyrica will join with Tapestry Chamber Choir of Newmarket for “Baroque Gems.” This concert will feature excerpts from Bach’s beloved Christmas Oratorio as well as other masterworks from the Baroque. In early April, Lyrica will present “Canadian Choral Gems” rejoicing in the rich choral heritage that Canadian composers have bequeathed to our great country. Finally, in late May we conclude the season with “Contemporary Choral Gems” featuring great choral works of the 20th and 21st centuries.
